We want you to be happy with what you buy from PAINT etc. This policy explains how returns, refunds and your consumer rights work with us. It applies to purchases from our Mbombela and White River stores and, once live, our online shop.
Faulty, defective or incorrect goods
If goods are defective, unsafe, or not as described, you are protected under the Consumer Protection Act. Bring the item back with your proof of purchase and we will repair, replace or refund it as appropriate. This right generally applies for up to six months from purchase for defects.
Online orders — your right to cancel
For orders placed through our online shop, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives you the right to cancel within 7 days of receiving the goods. You may return unused goods in their original condition for a refund, and you cover the direct cost of returning them. The exclusions below still apply.
Custom-mixed and made-to-order items
Custom-tinted or colour-matched paint, and any other goods mixed or made to your specification, cannot be returned for a change of mind, because they are made specially for you. If a custom-mixed product is faulty, your rights for defective goods above still apply.
Change of mind on in-store purchases
We don’t offer general change-of-mind refunds on in-store purchases, but please talk to us — we’ll always do our best to find a fair solution.
How to return something
- Bring the item, unused and in its original condition and packaging where possible, to either store.
- Bring your proof of purchase (slip, invoice or order confirmation).
- Approved refunds are made using your original payment method within a reasonable period.
Collection and delivery
Orders are collected at our Mbombela or White River store. If you need delivery, contact us and we’ll arrange it where we can.
